VA facility in LA searched after gunman reported
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police are searching a Veterans Affairs care center in the San Fernando Valley after a report that a man was seen holding a gun.
Officer Bruce Borihanh says that the call came in shortly after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and officers were sent to search the Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center in North Hills.
Borihanh says there have been no other calls, threats or sightings to confirm the report but officers are searching the center as a precaution.
He says there is no large-scale evacuation but patients and staff may be leaving some buildings as they are searched.
