LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles County coroner’s office has released new details on the deaths of last week’s Santa Monica gunman and his victims.
Coroner’s Lt. Fred Corral says gunman 23-year-old John Samir Zawahri died of multiple gunshot wounds fired by police in the library at Santa Monica College.
Zawahri’s brother, 25-year-old Christopher Samir Zawahri died of a single gunshot wound to the chest at his father’s home.
Their father, 55-year-old Samir Salem Zawahri, died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Authorities say Zawahri killed three others while armed with an assault-style rifle and 1,300 rounds of ammunition.
Victims include a groundskeeper and his daughter, and a 68-year-old woman who was collecting cans on campus.
