LA teacher arrested after wife’s stabbing death
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police have arrested a teacher who allegedly chased down and stabbed his estranged wife to death on a San Fernando Valley street.
Officer Sara Faden says 46-year-old Michael Rodney Kane was arrested in San Bernardino County early Monday. Detective Dave Peteque tells KNX-AM that police kicked in the door of a Joshua Tree motel but Kane didn’t resist arrest. He says Kane was treated for injuries that may have occurred during or after the stabbing.
Kane teaches at Nestle Avenue Charter Elementary School in Tarzana.
Police say he stabbed 43-year-old Michelle Ann Kane of West Hills on Saturday morning outside the home of friends where she was staying.
The couple’s two children were inside and weren’t harmed.
