LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles fire officials say they’ve knocked down a fire that ravaged a 118-year-old Victorian home near downtown and left one person injured.
Fire spokesman Brian Humphrey says firefighters were called to the three-story home near MacArthur Park just after 2 p.m. Tuesday and the fire was out less than an hour later.
One resident was treated at the scene by paramedics and released. Others were rescued or assisted out of the burning house.
Humphrey says the fire is believed to have originated from the second floor, but the cause remains under investigation.
The home of more than 3,500 square feet originally had five bedrooms and two bathrooms.
