Hunt resumes for missing 11-year-old autistic boy
MENIFEE, Calif. (AP) — Hundreds of people will resume the search for an autistic 11-year-old boy who vanished over the weekend in Riverside County, where temperatures have topped 100 degrees.
The Riverside Press-Enterprise says more than 100 emergency workers and volunteers combed the hills of Menifee Monday looking for Terry Dewayne Smith Jr.
A volunteer tells KABC-TV that as many as 400 people will be out Tuesday.
The boy was last seen at his Menifee home Saturday night.
The Sheriff’s Department has been looking for the boy since Sunday, aided by bloodhounds, helicopters and searchers on horseback.
There’s concern because he may not be carrying any food, water or his medication.
