LOS ANGELES (CNS) – A carjacking suspect led officers on a pursuit today from the Santa Clarita area into Simi Valley and back into Los Angeles County, where the man was arrested after the vehicle was spun out by a patrol car in Granada Hills.

The chase began about 11:35 a.m. on the southbound Antelope Valley (14) Freeway, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Ed Jacobs.

The car’s owner had reported being carjacked and an officer began pursuing the suspect in a chase that hit speeds in excess of 100 mph, according to the CHP.

The suspect drove west on the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway into Ventura County, but then exited the freeway and immediately got back on the 118 Freeway heading eastbound.

About 12:15 p.m., the suspect exited the freeway at Woodley Avenue, and a short time later, an officer used a patrol car to spin out the vehicle. The suspect quickly surrendered.
