Greinke pitches Dodgers past Marlins 4-1
MIAMI (AP) — Zack Greinke allowed one run in eight innings to win his fourth start in a row Wednesday, and the Los Angeles Dodgers took advantage of sloppy defense by the Miami Marlins for the second consecutive night to beat them, 4-1.
Greinke (12-3) allowed six hits, walked none and lowered his ERA to 2.91.
The Marlins’ lone run came on a first-inning homer by Giancarlo Stanton, and they had only one hit after the fourth inning.
Miami committed a season-high three errors, including two in the Dodgers’ three-run fourth inning. Two Marlins errors led to two unearned in their 6-4 loss Tuesday.
Yasiel Puig went 0 for 5 but scored the Dodgers’ first run. The rookie sensation was back in right field after being held out of the starting lineup for one game because of a slump. He’s 7 for 42 (.167) over his past 11 games.
