Have you heard of the Unclaimed Baggage Center? It’s in Scottsboro, Ala., and it’s where those orphaned bags go after they sit alone and unwanted for about 90 days. UBC contracts with the airlines and the bags are picked up, opened and sorted. The sorters determine whether the stuff should be pitched, donated, or cleaned and resold. (Because people tend to take good stuff with them, there’s usually good stuff in the bags.)
Now UBC is selecting a lucky shopper this weekend to go through and determine what will be kept and cleaned and put up for sale and what will be donated and what will be trashed. It’s sort of “Storage Wars” for unclaimed bags.
