165 arrested in S. Cal gang violence crackdown
POMONA, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say they’ve arrested 165 people in a crackdown on gang violence in eastern Los Angeles County.
Pomona police said Tuesday that 25 guns, including assault rifles, were seized during the three-week operation in the community east of Los Angeles. Those arrested were held for various offenses.
Authorities say nearly two dozen killings in the city this year are believed to be gang- or drug-related.
