Police hunt suspected serial massage parlor rapist
RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) — Riverside police are hunting a man they say robbed and raped people at Southern California spas and massage parlors for at least a decade — sometimes brutally beating them.
Authorities on Wednesday released surveillance video of a 6-foot-tall man in his 40s, weighing about 250 pounds.
Police say DNA links the same man to five attacks in Riverside and other cities from 2003 to 2009 but they suspect he’s committed many more crimes — some recent or unreported.
Police say there could be a dozen victims or more.
Authorities say the man talked his way into back areas, then pulled a gun or knife and robbed and assaulted employees. Several were badly beaten and one woman was slammed into a wall, breaking her collarbone and knocking out five teeth.
