Mental illness and violence
Washington, DC has had more than its share of tragic events in recent weeks. There was the Navy Yard massacre that left 13 dead last month. Two-and-a-half weeks later, a woman was killed after ramming her car into a White House barricade and then leading a high speed chase to the White House. In both cases, mental illness was a factor. But clearly, the people involved did not get the help they needed.
