LOS ANGELES (AP) — A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge is accused of pushing and injuring a woman who was walking her dogs near his home in Chatsworth.
City attorney officials said the confrontation occurred in July when Judge Craig Richman saw Connie Romero place a plastic bag of dog waste on the curb next to a street.
The Los Angeles Times reports Romero accuses Richman of pushing her from behind and knocking her to the ground. Romero told authorities that she suffered a cut over her left eye and other injuries.
Richman was charged Oct. 16 with one misdemeanor count of battery.
The judge’s attorney disputed the allegations, describing Romero as the aggressor. The attorney said Richman approached Romero and asked her to find a trash can for the excrement, but she threw the bag at him.
