Man sentenced to 50 years to life in wife’s death
SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — A man has been sentenced to 50 years to life in prison for fatally shooting his estranged wife near the preschool where she worked.
John Agosta received the sentence Friday. He was convicted in June of one felony count of murder.
Prosecutors say Agosta trailed his estranged wife Alejandra Hernandez and shot her nine times in the chest after she left her job in Irvine for lunch in 2011.
During the sentencing, Hernandez’s sisters and aunts said the family felt a tremendous loss.
