BURBANK (CNS) – Some die-hard Disney fans will get a chance next month to visit the company’s Burbank studio to see the new film chronicling Walt Disney’s efforts to secure movie rights for “Mary Poppins,” and then receive an exclusive studio tour.

For $50 per ticket, fans will visit a theater on the Disney lot to see the film “Saving Mr. Banks,” starring Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson. The film follows the legendary Walt Disney (Hanks) as he tries to convince reluctant author P.L. Travers (Thompson) to let him make a movie out of her book “Mary Poppins.”

After the screening, ticket-holders will get a “Walk in Walt’s Footsteps” tour of the Disney lot, showing locations and sets featured in the movie and highlighted by photo opportunities with Mickey Mouse, Mary Poppins, Bert the Chimney Sweep and other characters from “Mary Poppins.”

Attendees will also receive a commemorative 50th anniversary “Mary Poppins” DVD.

The screenings and tours will be held at 7 p.m. from Dec. 13-19. A limited number of tickets is available by calling (800) 347-6396 or visiting http://movies.disney.com/saving-mr-banks.
