405 in West LA to close Thursday night
LOS ANGELES (CNS) – The southbound San Diego (405) Freeway will be closed between Santa Monica and National boulevards in West Los Angeles for five hours Friday morning while crews realign lanes to accommodate roadway widening and drainage work along the median.
The full closure will run from just after midnight to 5 a.m. Friday, but crews will begin closing freeway ramps in the affected area starting at 7 p.m. Thursday, according to Metro. They will start closing southbound lanes three hours later.
Officials also will close the onramps to the southbound freeway at Wilshire Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard “as a traffic mitigation effort,” according to Metro.
Access to the freeway for emergency vehicles “will be maintained at all times,” the transit agency reported.
