SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a San Bernardino County sheriff’s van was rear-ended in a three-car crash, injuring 10 people.

The San Bernardino Sun says the van was struck at about 5 p.m. Thursday as it was taking jail inmates back from a courthouse in San Bernardino.

Fire Capt. Jason Buchanan says seven men in the van complained of neck and back pain and were taken to hospitals for treatment. The driver had minor injuries but declined to be taken to a hospital.

Two people in the other cars had moderate injuries and also were transported.

Police say unsafe speed may have led to the collision.
