Let’s kick off the weekend with a Chinese New Year event. It’s the Year of the Woodhorse and Santa Monica Place is celebrating. Senior Marketing Manager for the Mall, Shoshana Puccia, explains.

A couple of years ago we took our son to Chinatown in downtown L.A. for the parade. It is crowded and long, but well worth the experience. All of Chinatown will be “horsing” around with festivities, parades, dragon and lion dances, and food for all tastes and appetites on February 1st and 2nd starting at noon.  It’s also the Lunar New Year, and Asian restaurants will be commemorating this special season as well.

And then there’s SUPER BOWL SUNDAY! A lot of Southland bars and restaurants are having viewing parties, but don’t forget your designated driver in case you’re drinking.

… and of course, there’s always the beach!
