SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — San Francisco police have arrested a man wanted for investigation of a Los Angeles-area stabbing death.

Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials say 54-year-old Oscar Bridges was taken into custody Saturday in San Francisco, four days after a huge manhunt in the Hollywood Hills came up empty.

Bridges was wanted in connection with the Jan. 23 stabbing death of 21-year-old Robert Brewer of Texas at a motel in LA County’s unincorporated Westmont area.

Last Tuesday more than 50 deputies searched the rugged hills above the Greek Theatre and west into a popular hiking trail in Runyon Canyon for signs Bridges. Later in the day, deputies walked along Hollywood Boulevard with a bloodhound.

Sheriff’s officials said Monday that Bridges will be transported to Los Angeles and booked for investigation of murder.
