PCH in Malibu closed all day
MALIBU (CNS) – A stretch of Pacific Coast Highway was closed in the Malibu are today because of possible rockslides, authorities said.
The roadway was closed between Yerba Buena Road in Ventura County and Decker Canyon Road in Malibu, the city of Malibu reported. The closure was expected to be in effect all day “for fear of rockslides,” according to the city of Malibu.
The California Highway Patrol said debris from a rockslide on Kanan Dume Road trapped two vehicles around 4:30 a.m. About a half hour later, two other slides were reported in the general area: one on Malibu Canyon Road just north of PCH, and another near Piuma Road, the CHP reported.
