Paulina Gretzky is at the center of an uproar over her upcoming Golf Digest cover photo, but it’s far from the first time the daughter of hockey great Wayne Gretzky has made waves due to her photos. Several have been very racy and though this one is much tamer, the real gripe comes from the LPGA. They can’t see why Gretzky’s daughter is on the cover of Golf’s bible. She’s not a golfer and her “lineage” stems from the hockey ice, not the greens.

The justification appears to be that she’s engaged to PGA player Dustin Johnson. Pro golfer Stacy Lewis told The New York Times the cover shows that female golfers “don’t get respect for being the golfers we are,” and that she’d like to see more respect for the women’s game. Golf Digest said in a defensive statement, “Paulina ranks at the high end of the golf celebrity scene today, and she has a compelling story to tell. She also might get some new people interested in the game.”
