A ton of marijuana found in Malibu
MALIBU (CNS) – A panga boat with more than a ton of marijuana aboard was found today on a Malibu-area beach.
One person was detained and other possible suspects were being sought in connection with the panga. The boat, about 30 feet in length, was discovered around 8 a.m. on the beach in Los Angeles County, just south of the Ventura County line, said Virginia Kice of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
“The panga was loaded with numerous bundles of marijuana,” Kice said. “The exact weight is still unknown, but based upon the visuals, our investigators estimate the load is in excess of one ton.”
The case was being investigated by personnel from the Border Enforcement Security Task Force.
