Donald Sterling has prostate cancer
LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling has prostate cancer, according to a published report.
The New York Post report was confirmed by ESPN. Neither outlet named the sources for its reporting.
There was no immediate response to an email sent to the team’s vice president of communications seeking comment.
Sterling was suspended for life by National Basketball Association Commissioner Adam Silver Tuesday for making racist remarks that were recorded and made public Friday night by TMZ.
In a report published Saturday, Yahoo Sports said Sterling’s illness had been common knowledge at the highest levels of the NBA.
“The (NBA) commissioner’s office believed Sterling was sick and dying, that he would go away,” the Yahoo report said.
