Mama bear nursing cub in Monrovia yard
Imagine you go out to fill the bird feeders, and you find something much bigger than a bird in your backyard. That happened to Kate Clark yesterday in Monrovia.
She walked out of her home to find a mother bear nursing a cub under a tree.
Clark stepped back inside and watched as the mother bear drank sugar water from a hummingbird feeder and the cub snacked on an avocado.
She says, at one point both climbed a tree and took an hour- long nap, but they eventually moved on.
She says as long as you don’t startle them, the bears are fine … just looking for something to eat.
“They are just looking for avocados, pomegranates, grapefruit, whatever they can eat off the trees, and some water.”
