1 dead in boating accident at Pyramid Lake
CASTAIC, Calif. (AP) – Authorities say there’s no sign of foul play in a boating accident that killed a man at a Southern California lake.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department says a deputy patrolling Pyramid Lake was flagged down shortly before 11:30 a.m. Sunday by a man on a jet ski who reported seeing something suspicious.
He directed deputies to the south part of the lake, where they found the bow of a boat sticking out of the lake. A man was found underwater nearby. He couldn’t be revived and authorities say he apparently drowned. The boat appeared to be undamaged.
Sheriff’s divers searched for a possible second victim but found nothing by nightfall.
