Michael Knight began his radio career in the San Francisco Bay Area working as the News Director and Morning co-host at the CBS-FM Rock station, KRQR-FM, “The Rocker.” He later hosted the eclectic morning show at KKCY-FM, one of the first Triple-A stations in the nation. Knight was also heard on morning shows on KFRC-FM and KTIM.
Before leaving the Bay Area, Knight was a news and sports anchor at the CBS news’ KCBS-AM. In 1998 he moved to Seattle to assume a new challenge, morning host of the sports station, KJR-AM. His first stint at KFWB came when famed KFWB program director, Chuck Blore introduced him to new director Greg Tantum in 1999.
Knight left KFWB to become head writer, then Executive Producer at ReporterTV.com covering entertainment business news in streaming video, producing special live event coverage for the Cannes Film Festival, Sundance, etc.
Knight is married to Kristin Plueger Knight (they went to high school together in Marin County, California). Their daughter is Kailani Knight (Director of Marketing for a legal firm in Pittsburgh). Knight graduated from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, majoring in Dramatic Arts.
He prefers Fender guitars and basses but admires the good work at Gibson and Rickenbacker, as well.
