Russ Spears

Russ Spears been a radio newsperson in Los Angeles for over thirty years, His first job was as a news producer and writer in 1980 at what was then KHTZ 97.1.

Since that time he has been involved in all areas of radio news gathering and reporting. He has been a reporter, news anchor, talk show host and news director at various stations including KRLA 1110 AM and KLSX 97.1.

Prior to joining the staff as a news anchor at KFWB, he was an anchor and reporter with METRO Networks, heard locally and nationally on a daily basis.

Russ’s father was in the Air Force and he spent the first twelve years of his life growing up on military bases around the country. He later attended high school and college in Tempe Arizona. He moved to the Los Angeles area in 1979.
