Fire danger level rises to high in Angeles National Forest

ARCADIA (CNS) – The fire-danger level in the Angeles National Forest was raised today from “moderate” to “high” because of a lack of significant winter rain and a large amount of tall dry grass, authorities said.

Firefighters close to getting ring around wildfire

LONE PINE, Calif. (AP) — Gusty winds have delayed containment of a 408-acre wildfire in the high desert Lone Pine area. The Inyo County blaze broke out Sunday morning north of State Route 136 in the Owens Valley river bottom about 200 miles north of LA.
