Flight delays pile up Monday after FAA budget cuts

NEW YORK (AP) — It was a tough start to the week for many air travelers as federal budget cuts led to cascading delays along the East Coast Monday morning.

Boston manhunt: Trains and buses halted, but planes flying

NEW YORK (AP) — Mass transportation to and from the Boston area was virtually shut down Friday as police conducted a massive manhunt for one of two suspects in Monday’s Boston Marathon bombing. The exception was air travel at Logan International Airport.

American Airlines halts flights, passengers stuck

DALLAS (AP) — American Airlines grounded flights across the country Tuesday because of an outage of its main reservations system. Thousands of passengers were stranded at airports and on airplanes. The FAA said American asked to halt its flights until 5 p.m. EDT.

Airlines canceling flights in advance of storm

(AP) – The big storm heading for the Northeast is already disrupting air travel. The aviation tracking website FlightAware shows United Airlines is already canceling more than 350 flights for Friday in advance of the storm.
