Jury awards damages in Johnson & Johnson hip case

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A jury in Los Angeles has awarded more than $8 million to a man who accused Johnson & Johnson of knowingly marketing a faulty hip implant that was later recalled.

Hip replacements more likely to fail in women

CHICAGO (AP) — A new study shows that hip replacements are more likely to fail in women than in men. Researchers found that a small number of the hip implants failed overall, but women were 29 percent more likely than men to need a repeat surgery.
