WASHINGTON (AP) — The Department of Veterans Affairs says it has added more than 1,000 mental health professionals and 200 support staff to meet the needs of returning veterans, but still has more to do to meet a requirement set by President Obama.
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Dozens of states have slashed spending on mental health care over the last four years, either because of the recession’s toll on revenue or a new zeal to shrink government. But that trend may be heading for a U-turn in 2013.
