Thousands of Palestinians protest in West Bank
JERUSALEM (AP) — Thousands of outraged Palestinians took to the streets of the West Bank on Thursday, joining funeral processions and demonstrations after two protesters were killed by Israeli troops and a Palestinian prisoner died of cancer in Israeli custody.
U.N. votes to recognize Palestine as state despite U.S. opposition
UNITED NATIONS (AP) – The United Nations has voted overwhelmingly to recognize a Palestinian state. The resolution upgrading the Palestinians’ status to a nonmember observer state at the United Nations was approved by a more than two-thirds majority of the 193-member world body.
