Pakistani girl shot by Taliban receives OKC award

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A human rights activist who founded an all-girls school in Pakistan and his 15-year-old daughter who was shot in the head by the Taliban will receive the 2013 Reflections of Hope Award from the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum.

Pakistani girl: ‘I am alive, I can speak’

A Pakistani girl shot by the Taliban has made her first video statement since she was nearly killed. Speaking clearly but with the left side of her face appearing rigid, 15-year-old Malala Yousufzai said she is “getting better, day by day.” WATCH the video here.
