Youth group: Students need better sports safety

WASHINGTON (AP) — Student athletes need access to health care professionals, better-trained coaches and up-to-date equipment, a coalition of groups recommended in a call to action aimed at protecting the almost 8 million students in high school sports.

Conn. gunman broke in, shot kids multiple times

NEWTOWN, Conn. (AP) — The gunman behind the Connecticut elementary school massacre stormed into the building and shot 20 children at least twice with a high-powered rifle, executing some at close range and killing adults who tried to stop the carnage.
